Nigo kick started his fashion career at the seminal Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo where he met his close friend Jun Takahashi, as well as Hiroshi Fujiwara, a popular designer in Harajuku. After founding a boutique in 1993, Nigo's flagship brand Bathing Ape propelled itself in to popularity through a tactic of rarity and low production runs. The early 2000s saw Nigo create the Bapesta, which would become the epitome in sneakerhead collectibles. Nigo continues to work with label Human Made and has maintained his millenial era hype through collaborations with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and the Beastie Boys.
