Jun Takahashi’s throughly documented “Small Parts” sub-collection was perhaps his first output to gain widespread notoriety, and select pieces were later included in the Toyko Opera City Art Gallery’s retrospective on Undercover. Its notoriety can be attributed to the modular freedom it allowed customers who owned multiple pieces. Each garment is fully interchangeable with other productions from the collection, allowing one to affix parts of knits, coats, puffers, and denim jackets to one another, and Frankenstein together their own unique outputs.
